Held Word Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 8, 2026

Held Word is made by ZarTech Studios, LLC, based in Little Rock, Arkansas. This page explains what the app collects, what it does with it, and how to delete it. It is written to be read, not skimmed. If anything here is unclear, email support@heldword.app.

The short version

What we collect

Things you tell us during setup. Your first name, your state, your age range, and your answers to the getting-to-know-you questions: what brought you here, what you hope to grow in, how you want your pastor to speak to you, your faith tradition, which Bible you read, what gets in the way, and how you are doing right now.

Your reflections. When you record a reflection, the app turns your voice into text. We keep the text. The audio file is deleted as soon as it has been transcribed, usually within seconds. We do not store, play back, or listen to recordings.

What the app notices. From each reflection, the app records a mood score, the main emotions, and the things that seem to weigh on you or lift you. These power your Insights page.

Your pastor's notes. The app keeps a running written summary of who you are and what you are carrying, in the way a pastor would keep notes after a conversation. You can read these notes at any time in Settings under "What your pastor knows."

Weekly and monthly letters, and saved scriptures. These are generated from your reflections and stored under your account.

Account and purchase information. Your email address and a password, which we store securely and cannot read. Subscription status comes from Apple or Google; we never see your card number.

Technical information. Basic logs needed to run the service, such as error reports and the times requests were made. We do not use analytics trackers or advertising identifiers.

How we use it

To give you a personal response, write your weekly and monthly letters, build your Insights page, and keep your scriptures. That is the whole purpose. We do not use your reflections to train AI models, and we do not use them for marketing.

Who else touches your data

Running the app requires a few service providers. Each one processes your information only to provide its service to us.

We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.

What the app is not

Held Word is a spiritual reflection journal. It is not a doctor, therapist, counselor, or emergency service, and its responses are not medical or mental-health advice. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 in the United States, or call 911 if you are in immediate danger.

Age

Held Word is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

How long we keep it

As long as your account exists. When you delete your account, everything under it is deleted: your reflections, notes, letters, insights, saved scriptures, and your login. Audio never persists past transcription.

Deleting your account

Settings, then Delete account. It asks you to confirm, then removes everything. There is no waiting period and nothing is kept back. If you cannot get into the app, email support@heldword.app from the address on the account and we will delete it for you.

Security

Your information is stored on encrypted servers, and only your account can read your rows. Our own staff do not read reflections except when you ask us to investigate a problem, and then only with your permission.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will tell you. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
