Held Word Terms of Use
Last updated: September 8, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and ZarTech Studios, LLC for using the Held Word app. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to them.
What Held Word is
Held Word is a spiritual reflection journal. You record reflections by voice, and the app responds in the voice of a pastor, with scripture, and writes weekly and monthly letters based on what you have shared. The responses are generated by software.
What it is not
Held Word is not a church, a licensed counselor, a doctor, a therapist, or an emergency service. Its responses are not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and they are not a substitute for a real pastor, a real doctor, or a real friend. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 in the United States, or call 911 if you are in immediate danger.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding agreement.
Subscriptions
A subscription is required to use Held Word. Plans are offered monthly and yearly, and prices are shown in the app before you buy. Payment is handled by Apple or Google through your app store account, and your subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. You can cancel any time in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by us.
We may change prices for future periods with notice; a change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
Your account
Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings, and doing so removes everything under it.
Your content
What you record and what the app writes for you belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them only so the app can work as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not use your reflections to train AI models and we do not sell them.
Acceptable use
Use the app for yourself, as intended. Do not attempt to access anyone else's data, interfere with the service, reverse engineer the app, or use it to harm anyone.
Our content
The app, its design, its name, and its logo belong to us. The Bible text in the app comes from public-domain translations (the King James Version and the World English Bible).
Accuracy and availability
Responses are generated by software and can be wrong, incomplete, or a poor fit for your situation. Read them with judgment. We work to keep the service available but do not promise it will always be, and we may change or discontinue features.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, the app will tell you. The date at the top shows the latest version.
